Your Unison equity sharing agreement gives you cash in exchange for a portion of the home price change in value. A Partial Special Termination reduces Unison’s investor percentage, which allows your Unison Agreement to continue, but also allows you to control a greater percentage of your home’s change in value.
Please note the net outcome of Partial Special Termination (compared to not undertaking a Partial Special Termination) depends on the real estate market, the timing of when you undertake a Partial Special Termination, and when you ultimately terminate the Unison Agreement.
